About this course

What happens when Christians take the Lord’s Supper? Throughout the history of the church, there has been debate over the meaning of Holy Communion. Even today there is much disagreement about the purpose and significance of this sacrament. As Dr. R.C. Sproul demonstrates, a proper understanding of the Lord’s Supper can be found only in Scripture.

In considering various opinions about this sacrament, Dr. Sproul helps to clarify the view held by the sixteenth-century reformer John Calvin. Dr. Sproul also examines related biblical themes, such as the Passover, the kingdom of God, the person and work of Christ, and justification by faith alone.
